IT Vikings — Securing Your Business
DATA

Know what your data is, where it lives, and when it leaves

Data protection only works in order: classify it, guard the stores it sits in, encrypt it, keep control of it after it travels, watch the exits, and be able to restore it. We deliver all six as one programme.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

Delivered as one service

Take the whole stack or the single control you are missing. Either way it is assessed, designed, deployed and — if you want — operated by the same team.

01

Data Loss Prevention

DLP

Discover sensitive data at rest, in motion and in use, then apply policy at the endpoint, the gateway and the cloud edge — starting in monitor mode so business never stops.

Discovery across endpoints, shares and cloud storage
Endpoint, network and email enforcement points
Incident workflow with business-owner review
Staged rollout: monitor, warn, then block
02

Database Security

DB

Activity monitoring, masking and vulnerability assessment for the databases that hold what matters most, including privileged-user accountability.

Real-time database activity monitoring and alerting
Dynamic masking for non-production environments
Privileged-user session accountability
Audit reporting aligned to PCI DSS and ISO 27001
03

Data Classification

CLASS

Labels that travel with the file and drive every other control. User-driven and automated classification working together.

Visual and metadata labels applied at creation
Automated classification of existing repositories
Labels consumed by DLP, encryption and rights management
Adoption reporting by department
04

Data Encryption

ENCRYPT

Encryption at rest, in transit and in use — with the keys held somewhere you can prove who reaches them. The cipher is rarely the hard part; key management is where most implementations quietly fail.

Full-disk, file, database and backup encryption
Centralized key management with HSM and KMIP-compliant external key management (EKM) across multi-cloud and on-premise repositories.
Separation of duties between data owner and key custodian
Certificate and key lifecycles tracked, not rediscovered at expiry
05

Digital Rights Management

DRM

Protection that stays attached to the document after it leaves your estate. Open, edit, print and forward rights travel with the file — and can be withdrawn after it has already been sent.

Persistent policy on documents shared outside the organisation
Per-recipient rights: view, edit, print, forward, expire
Access revoked after distribution, including on copies already sent
Audit trail of who opened what, when and from where
Seamless integration with Microsoft Purview / Azure Information Protection (AIP) labelling and automated classification workflows.
06

Backup & Recovery

BACKUP

Backup is the last control that still works after everything else has failed — so we design for restore, and we test it.

Immutable and air-gapped copies against ransomware
Recovery objectives agreed per workload, not per server
Isolated sandbox restore testing and immutable cyber recovery vault validation with compliance sign-off.
Cloud, on-premise and hybrid retention tiers

What this looks like as a project

YOU PROVIDE

Data owners per domain, classification appetite, retention requirements and backup topology.

YOU RECEIVE

Classification scheme, DLP policy in enforcement, database controls and a tested restore path.

BEFORE YOU ASK

The questions we get every time

Do we need to classify everything first?
No. We start with the data that would hurt most if it left, prove the controls there, then widen. Whole-estate classification projects stall.
Will DLP block legitimate work?
It will if it is deployed blind. Monitor-only first, tune against real workflows, then enforce on the rules that matter.
Are backups in scope?
Yes — immutability, credential separation and a tested restore. Attackers go for the backups first; so do we, in reverse.

Not sure which controls you actually need?

Start with a consultation. We map your data security posture against real threat models and hand back a prioritised roadmap — no obligation.
